The metal legged looks better but if you can I'd build one, I was going to buy one but turns out mine can press more a time and cost nothing to build.

personally I'd go with three legged, as it'll always stand on the ground without wobbling (regardless of ground level uneveness).
apart from that they're fairly similar. No fines for importing fruit press that I'm aware of.

If you have any DIY skills at all, and you have a few days spare, then you can source the parts from skips and build your own, and as said, make it whateve size you need, or whatever size fits, etc. minimal spend on certain parts, maybe £5 for a second hand car jack, etc, etc. a lot less than £100, and much more fun, and sense of achievement afterwards.

if not - go with three legged.

As yo live in Somerset you could call at Vigo in Honiton and collect one in there shop for not a lot more or look on the uk cider web site to build your own in wood

I got plans for a DIY press, but as you can't use any old wood due to the risk of taints, the cost would have been too high. So I bought a used whole fruit juicer for £20. It extracts 55% clear juice and the ejected pulp can be squeezed in a straining bag to extract up to 20% more juice.

Building one is out of the question for me really. Not enough time unfortunately

Hahah The pun was intended! :sulk:

The three legged one does look better in terms of practicality. Thank you all for your advice! Im ordering it now!
