I quite like the taste of a salty gooseOoohhhhh I didn’t know the spelling police were out tonight
Gose goose. Who cares. It’s salty beer no matter what. Wrong.
Play nice h.I quite like the taste of a salty goose
I honestly don't. I know what a gueuze is... Just not gose. I don't know whether it's a different thing, or just a different spellingSort of. But you can drink a gueuze if you have high blood pressure.
And stop acting like you don’t know. I know where you grew up.

I’ve just brewed a version of the Winter Warmer on the previous page, not sure what happened but it turned out to be 1.068 instead of 1.062Dusts off book and proceeds to feel like an *****
I was going to do a Belgian Dark Strong/Quad but not sure it will be ready by Christmas now as won't be able to brew for a couple of weeks. I may do an Extra Stout instead.
Fortunately the style label that gets applied to the beer doesn't actually affect the taste! Just enjoy the beer for what it is and don't worry what style it is (the Belgian breweries don't!)Well that BDSA had turned into a Dubbel after messing up the water calculations.

Normally wort tastes pretty horrible when I taste it (probably the green hop bitterness). So when I have a wort that tastes anything upwards of palatable, I know I'm into a winner!
Agreed. I just wanted something too strong and complex for Christmas, but I will just have something a bit less strong (but more of it, which is no bad thing). Wort tasted good so may well be a happy mistake.
Like this?On the subject of Christmas beer...in the past haven't the forum members nominated and voted on a selection of styles that we should try?
