I’ve just brewed a version of the Winter Warmer on the previous page, not sure what happened but it turned out to be 1.068 instead of 1.062

But I added some spices to it as well 😂

Fortunately the style label that gets applied to the beer doesn't actually affect the taste! Just enjoy the beer for what it is and don't worry what style it is (the Belgian breweries don't!)

Agreed. I just wanted something too strong and complex for Christmas, but I will just have something a bit less strong (but more of it, which is no bad thing). Wort tasted good so may well be a happy mistake.

Normally wort tastes pretty horrible when I taste it (probably the green hop bitterness). So when I have a wort that tastes anything upwards of palatable, I know I'm into a winner!
 
I am brewing Jon Finches oatmill stout on Saturday,the recipe was for 19l but i have scaled it up to 23l

4800g of base malt , (i am using vienna)
480g medium crystal
480g chocolate malt
525g rolled oats
72g golding hops @ 60mins
Use a English ale yeast
Mash @ 67c for 60 mins
Looking forward to it
