Hi all, new to the forum. In the process of brewing my first batch and I've decided to use a Coopers kit to keep things simple and I've gone for the Australian Pale Ale.

Anyway, I've finished the primary fermentation which took eight days until I got two consistent readings on the hydrometer. I then transferred to keg and it's been in there for eight days so far getting nicely carbonated.

My question is though ideally I'd like to chill my beer. Am I okay to move the keg after the two weeks the instructions say it needs to clear or will this unsettle things? I've got a fridge the keg would sit nicely in and I like my beer cool!

Any tips appreciated, cheers

Dan

Although the kit mentions 2 weeks to clear it's more likely they mean 2 weeks to clear and carbonate.
You'll be o.k to fridge it after 2 weeks, just try to move the sediment as little as possible :thumb:

Cool, thank you. Am I right in thinking that even when in the cold the longer the beer is left the better it's going to taste?

The longer the better, although the kits say 2 weeks conditioning it'll taste much better if you can leave it 4-6 weeks

Great choice All Coopers kits have been great for me. I'm just a brew it and sup it man no fa thing about and have been brewing Coopers pilsner and ordinary Coopers lager although i have not brewed the pale ale. From my experiance i give Coopers 10 out of 10.
I have had keg and bottled and after two weeks they have been spot on. As a poster already said just move it very gently to avoid disturbing and start supping after two weeks if you can't wait longer. You will not be disappointed.

Cheers mate, I may have had a cheeky taste last night. And WOW it's already much better than anything I can get in the pub and at a fraction of the cost too :P

I think you're right about that :D

I ordered a second keg last and some wheat beer extract too, so I'll be starting on that as soon as it arrives. Then after that some IPA and maybe a stout, who knows, eh
