Yes it looks a top receipe so thanks to second2none for sharing. Just gotta get one under my belt and i'll be away. Can't wait to get home and have a look

If you put it back in its respective bottle this will be ideal for taking to places where you can;t bring your own booze and have to buy theirs for £4 a pint.

"It's just robinsons mate, try some if you want" :thumb:

I used robinsons bottles for my first ever brew and the pressure pushes the bottom out and like a skittle they fall over and the shock to the fizzy liquid blows the lid off as these bottles arnt made for fizzy!

But that was only coz I carbonated them in them, decanting a sample to take places you arnt aloud glass bottles ;) should be fine!
Hahaa I hope you don't intend on drinking it at the bus station after school!

Thanks for the positive feed back I'm glad you people are enjoying it
:D :drunk:

Just checking in again chaps, and still nothing. Alas using too hotter water caused this I reckon. I've ordered some of youngs yeast which I hope will turn up tomorrow and will go again.

Yeah, throw another teaspoon of yeast into it. What's the worse that can happen?

Picked up a couple of bottles of peach and pink grapefruit yesterday as the co-op had them at £1 a bottle. Going to have to wait until I've a demijohn free though.

Another great recipe, I'm gonna try the strawberry and kiwi.

Tescos are cheaper than Asda at the moment, so i will pop down to my local one at the weekend.

Just drinking my finished batch of this....

GOOD GEAR!!! more will be made!!

If its not fermenting.....

1)Give it another day ur being to keen!

2)Give it some more yeast neutient (3-4 teaspoons) and another day

3)Give it some more yeast and another day

4)Reboil it & LET IT COOL TO COLDER THAN UR TOUCH and add more yeast and give it a day

5)it's time to let the rats have it (pour it away) and buy new yeast!!

Girlfriends getting mad else I could have tried to help more... Hope it helps

Bottled up 10 litres of summer fruits yesterday so looking forward to trying the finished article, the still sample I had was very pleasant :-)

I've got 3 free Demi johns
Can I have people's recommendations of their three favourite flavours
I would be very interested what people are enjoying!

Have you tried orange? I forgot I made some, it's been in the bottle for 2 months now as it wasn't that nice when I tried it after a few weeks but it ended up being really good! Very refreshing and quite possibly my new favourite :thumb: :D

Cheers that's just what I wanted to here!
The lemon does that, changes after a few weeks bottled
Orange will be my first dj!!

Lemon is one I want to try but can't seem to find it anywhere :(

I have a bottle of summer fruits which I've been meaning to make so will get on with that today as I have a spare demijohn now!

Well I've been away this weekend having just checked the dj there has been some action. Its started to ferment albeit rather slowly. Nothing is up into the airlock but there is white froth and bubbles.

Also, a mate has some spare dj's for me so I can get busy on the next batch - woohoo

Yay I'm glad to hear that it's started,
Sometimes a slow start is down to not boiling quite long enough
But now it's started you will soon see that there's nothing stopping it!

Hope you enjoy it!

I've made quite a few of these, and am drinking a pink grapefruit one right now.
Tropical fruits is popular, as well as summer fruits and orange. The apple one is good for a cheap, sweet cider ish drink.
I think I've made one for just about every robinson's variety.
However, I've noticed that the drink separates if kept for too long, although they've not all done it. My pink grapefruit one has a whitish sediment at the bottom which is about an inch deep. It doesn't affect the taste though, and if you close your eyes while you finish the bottle, you wouldn't notice.
Having taken a few samples to barbecues, friends have commented on how easy they are to drink, and it's not until they get up to go home that they realise it was alcoholic!

Well just tried my first bottle of summer fruits and its lacking a bit in taste for my liking but I do usually mix the cordial quite strong, had a spare bottle of cordial left over so added a bit and its done the trick. Have just put a DJ of lemon on as per the original recipe but have added the juice of 2 lemons as well, Fingers crossed it will turn out like hooch, will take me back to my teens drinking that :D

Just started one of these.

My SG is 1024. Is this about right?

I used five bottles of tropical squash, 1600g of sugar and topped FV up to 20 litres

Havn't put the yeast in yet because the temperature is around the 36c mark at the moment

Your SG sounds a little low there, I take it your making a total of 25L (5L cordial and 20L water)? If that's the case, would think you need to add another 400g sugar as the original recipe is for 5L, for 25L you would need 2000g sugar.

I was intending leaving it at 20 litres as the bottles of squash say dilute 4 to 1 and i put five in already.

I multiplied the original recipe by four except i did put an extra bottle in.

Should i wack a load more sugar in anyway?
