I don't disagree with you, but quoting the Home Secretary doesn't do much for your point. She's hardly a moral authority or the arbiter of good behaviour.

She was cleared pf bullying so i don't see why she shouldn't say this is unacceptable thuggery and disorder in this totally unrelated incident.

Priti Patel has reportedly been cleared of bullying members of staff after an official investigation.
The investigation, ordered by Boris Johnson, found "no evidence" to support claims the Home Secretary had bullied staff at the Home Office, Department for Work and Pensions and Department for International Trade, the Telegraph reports.
The report, carried out by the Cabinet Secretary Sir Mark Sedwill and reportedly completed within the last week, is understood to have been handed to the Prime Minister on his return to Downing Street on Monday after his recovery from coronavirus.

"They have looked at all the claims and found nothing,” said a Whitehall source told the newspaper.

"They trawled through lots of material but found no evidence."

I honestly think it’s time for our police to be routinely armed.

In certain circumstances i see no reason why they shouldn't have tasers but unfortunately i have seen too many videos like the one below of police who shouldn't be in the job, i wouldnt want these bad apples routinely carrying tasers.

This is a 15 year old lad he is about to punch and kick while on the ground he was suspended from front line service which is a ******* joke then later suspended because he had done it before he is now being investigated, he should have been sacked imediatly.

Because you give out 6-figure payouts when you've nothing to worry about... Ok.

Subsequent report found otherwise too. You know, the one that the government buried for months.

To be honest it makes no odd whether she was or was not guilty its now water under the bridge and she is still in the job its also not what the thread was about i only posted the quote from her as it was part of the commentary in the video i posted below it,

And I'm saying that she's not the person I would be taking any lectures from. My point still stands. I'm deeply uncomfortable with someone who abuses her position of power remaining as Home Secretary, overseeing the biggest grab on our rights in generations. It might be water under the bridge for you, but a proportion of the population simply isn't happy having a government where there is a culture of bullying and shady dealings.

Another mostly peaceful protest. Not a good time to kick off during a protest given what the protest was supposed to be about, seems either a bit silly or a bit fishy.

I'm sure there are already existing laws to deal with people being violent or destroying property during protests, the root issue is that it isn't enforced when the people doing it are left wing students or racial activists like we saw last year, where some of the police actually got on their knees.

I expect if there are tougher new laws, when average people want to protest the police will come down on them like a ton of bricks but if riots start they will run away

She was found to be not guilty of the accusations and is still in the job you don't like that decision fair enough it would seem from the lack of posts on the subject the rest of us have bigger things to worry about its certainly not worth getting upset about its not going to change and as i also said earlier its not what the thread was about so can we get back on topic now.

Did you not read the second article I posted? She was found to have bullied and to have broken the ministerial code.

I'm not getting upset about anything. I don't accept you steering things whichever way you like but then taking issue when others bring in perfectly appropriate points that you happen to dislike.

The point I made was completely appropriate to what has been discussed, if you feel the need to throw your weight about as admin because your point of view has been challenged, then go ahead, but I'm not going to stop posting my views just because you don't like it.

I have been perfectly friendly and polite throughout.

Here we go again, where have i thrown my weight about, we have had a discussion on weather she was a bully or not you think she is i pointed out she is still in the job and suggested we get back on topic instead of going round in circles as we are never going to agree how is that throwing my weight about.

If i was throwing my weight about i would have told you to stop ignoring my above request, deleted your posts or blocked you from posting in the thread which i haven't so please stop accusing me of using my position here against you.

We may well go round and round in circles. That's sometimes what happens during discussions. I'm ok with that. You asking me to get back in topic is an example of you wanting to steer the topic your way based on your role here.

I maintain the point I made about Patel's bullying and abuse of power is completely on topic. If you disagree, and don't wish to discuss it further, feel free not to reply, but I won't change tack just because you don't like it.

How is asking for the topic to get back on topic (as we were going round in circles with the Patel discussion) steering it my way there is no my way, it was a request not an instruction feel free to ignore it as i am sure you will.

You only had an issue with my post and sought to "return to the topic" because it was contrary to your views. Anyways, enjoy your echo chamber. I'm out.

Wrong again, if you followed my request we would both have returned to the original topic and the Patel debate would have ended.

Thankfully it looks like it now has.

I would run a mile if I saw them coming towards me.

Well maybe not a mile as those days have long gone maybe several feet :laugh8:

The protest in London and the one in Bristol look to me like they were by groups, that for the main part, are from different ends of the political spectrum.
I like to think of it not as a spectrum but it's more of a political circle or doughnut.
The extreme left and the extreme right meet alongside each other, diametrically opposite the moderate liberals on the other side of the circle.
Their tactics and aims are exactly the same, whatever they may say are their intentions.
Do as the leadership says without question, or their lowbrow supporters will be after you. Sometimes with uniforms, sometimes without.
Whatever, the anarchists amongst them just enjoy the ride.
Much what the Avon and Somerset Police chief has said this p.m.
