Being chrome plated brass it won't corrode, I can see no reason why you can't use it.
Were you intending to connect it straight to the stockpot or are you using a tank connector?
 
OK, well looking at it you could use a flange nut and fit it to the side of a stockpot. However if this is a boiler then you need to attach a hop strainer to it and if it's a HLT then you want a pickup pipe going to the bottom.

and I'm not sure you'd have enough thread left to screw them on.
 
Then if you don't mind inverting your stockpot to drain off the last couple of litres I don't see a problem.
