Yes, it's from the old Graham Wheeler book. But of course he doesn't quote a yeast. I don't kid myself it's going to taste much like Black Sheep, hence I don't like to use the term 'clone', but if turns out 'of that type', and tastes good, I'll be more than happy.
I'd be interested to here how it turn out. I was going to try a black sheepish ale with the following recipe. Is the wheeler recipe similar?

You won't be able to get WLP037 Yorkshire Square at the moment as it's a vault strain that's not currently on release. Wyeast 1469 would be your next best bet.

The Wheeler recipe is a bit similar, but torrified wheat rather than wheat malt, and a tiny amount of black malt rather than roasted barley, but presumably that's just for colour, so wouldn't make much difference. Challenger, Progress and Fuggles, with a late addition of Goldings.

@Neale the black sheep website gives you a hint as to the recipe

Thanks I had seen this, so theres definitely wheat and Goldings in there.

I also noticed on the cask version that in the ingredients it mentions Torrified wheat when on the bottled version it just says Wheat, I know that the cask recipe is probably slightly different to the bottled version. But I wonder if they would use Torrified wheat instead of Wheat malt in the bottle version as well. Any one have any idea?
