Last year, after having dug to a depth of 5 metres, Canadian archaeologists found traces of copper wire dating back 200 years.

They came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 150 years ago !

Not to be outdone by their neighbours, in the weeks that followed, an American archaeologist dug to a depth of 10 metres. Shortly afterwards, a story was published in the New York Times:
"American archaeologists, finding traces of 250-year-old copper wire at a depth of 10 metres, have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network 50 years earlier than the Canadians" !

A week later, British authorities reported the following:
"After digging to a depth of 20 metres in Yorkshire, Jack Arkwright, self-taught archaeologist reported that he had found, "absolutely f+++ all" !

Jack has therefore concluded that 250 years ago, Britain had already gone wireless"

Only in yorkshire . "Where theres muck theres brass" , so tis said ....

....so where theres copper theres.....???

Nice one, but according to the news last night youcan no longer sell it for cash.

Not yet but in the works....going to be account only . However , this is kneejerk ******** because you are supposed to hold a waste disposal license to weigh in already . So , you use a friends name . So whats going to happen in future ? You use a friend with an accounts name . And what does this mean ? More opportunity for the the unscrupulous to profit by buying the metal for cash from the thieves and putting it through their account hidden in amongst their own .

Now , I live around a lot of gypsy and traveller families who DO have waste disposal licences and the more staid ones are getting out of metals altogether , selling up their lorries etc . From what they tell me its nothing to do with any regulations its because of the competition from nasty drug adled types . Of course there may be the less staid that I dont know who will welcome this new way to corner the market....how they will get around the taxable income paper trail remains to be seen .
