Nice one nowt worse than an oven that doesn't work especially if you have a family.

We recently bought one of these its brilliant and saves heating the big oven if we are only making a meal for two its also much faster than the fan oven as it takes hardly any time to pre-heat and seems to cook the food a lot faster.

We got ours in a sale and paid around £80 which may seem a bit pricey but it'll pay for itself eventually as we are not using as much electricity.

The U.K version max temperature is 200C.

I bought an air fryer from aldi (or lidl) for £30 when the oven broke. Its great value for the money. Any ideas for what to cook in it most welcome?

Having just looked i see yours is a halogen oven we used to have one and it worked well until the bulb blew and we couldn't find a replacement, our new air fryer doesn't have a bulb this type has something that looks like the cooker ring of an electric cooker at the top providing the heat.

As we work odd shifts i find it great for making a quick meal from the freezer, i had battered fish with potato wedges and mushy peas earlier, i love the way it cooks the fish in only a few minutes and the batter is always much more crispy than when you use a conventional oven.

This is how SWMBO makes the wedges in the air fryer (i am sure this method will work equally as well in the halogen oven)

1/4 as many spuds as you need, put the spuds in a shallow bowl with some boiling water and a little salt microwave on full power for 6 - 7 minutes, remove, drain and add a little oil (we use "fry light" spray) and get your hands in to cover the spuds in the oil, cook at 180c for 7 minutes then turn them and cook for a further 6 mins. :thumba:
