Current Capacity and Regulations for Ring Circuits.
Ring circuits in the UK are generally designed with a current capacity that takes into account the unique ring design. For instance, a 2.5 sq.mm cable typically used in these circuits can handle around 20A of current when wired as a radial circuit. But when used in a ring circuit, the ring circuit can carry up to 32A..

This design is compliant with the standards set out in BS 7671 and the Building Regulations, ensuring both safety and efficiency in electrical installations.
Exactly what I was trying to convey without the details and regs. Thanks.

Yes, but you can't put something like a IEC C19 socket, rated 15 amp. Directly on a 32A fused ring. Outlets on any circuits, such as a 32A ring, must use connectors, fused if necessary, so they can't be overloaded. eg by using 13A fused plug.

Of course, that's why the 65 litre 240 volt in the UK doesn't come with a 13 amp plug.

In NZ and Aus, there's a separate plug for 15A devices.
Rest of the house sockets rated for 10A and can fit in the 15A socket but not vice versa.
The plugs aren't as good as UK plugs though.
