Frankly they have a point

They are trademarking the text Great British Beer Festival

OK so why do they have a foreign beer hall?

And why do they permit beers in there to be served with extraneous CO2?

And what gives them the right to define 'Real Ale' . . .Mine is just as much real ale as anything in casks, but doesn't count as I serve it with evil CO2.

CMARA should wake up and realise that just because its in a keg it's not John smiths smoothflow nitro ****, and that great craft beers can be served from keg or cask (with a cask breather  ). The thing that is killing Great British Beer (in fact Great Beer Worldwide) is the giant brewing conglomerations, buying up all the great craft breweries world wide. and pubcos killing off the local boozer . . .that's more worth concentrating on than how the beer is served to a great extent.

I guess CAMRA would do well to think about what they should be agitating for these days. There are plenty of things to campaign about, the 7.5% super tax if nothing else. I'm not sure that having a festival about British beer precludes serving any from elsewhere. If it was predominantly german lager then that would be an issue but I get the impression that it is, in the main British beer that they sell. I haven't actually been to one so I may be totally wrong here...

I wish brewdog would do more brewing and less predicatble shock marketing. As a company they are about as punk as Avril Lavigne IMO. They seem to have issues with consistency and tbh aren't a patch on the american brewers they have been ripping off. If they don't like the GBBF, they should shut up and put on a better one Anarchist Ales Collective or something. Maybe they could start a campaign for genuine ale or something which doesn't insist on no CO2 and so on.

Of course I'm just another person moaning on t'interwebs and doing nowt so neither organisation should probably give a flying fcuk about my opinion...

i was sure i posted on this on monday night but my post obviously lost the will to live.

it went something like brew dog why not have a go at them for serving food and cider as they are not beers

god i see why my first attempt killed itself

I really don't give a flying monkeys turd what Brew Dog think and care even less what CAMRA say or do.

Just thought I'd have my say :D

i had a bottle of a brewdog beer, I was so excited i drank it first. All I could taste for hours was grass. Well any of us could make that muck. They and camra are equal in their nonsense. Thats part of why we brew is'nt it?
