Bottling Basics: Newbie!!

Just wondering about bottling up my beer.

Did a wherry kit recently. My first kit. As expected no sooner had it conditioned I was drinking it and its nearly gone already (oops).

The problem I had was when pouring it from the barrel it wasnt as cold as beer should be so I would have to put the pint glass in the fridge for a bit before I could drink it.

My idea for my next brew is to bottle it up and store it in its own fridge.

What would the best way to bottle it be?

Im wondering if to put it through stage 2 into the barrel and then pour it out of the barrel into bottles or is this a no no?

Also whats the expected time it will keep bottled up?

I always bottle from my keg (when I do bottle that is) and add 1/2 tsp of sugar per litre.
It will keep for longer than you can resist drinking it!

You can also bottle straight from primary. Transfer to a bottling bucket with the required amount of sugar and then bottle. The beer should keep for a pretty long time. If it is something like an IPA the optimal time will be 2-4 months, if it is a stout or porter it will keep good for maybe twice as long as that. A really high ABV beer will keep for years.

Gonna check that, might have to get in a load of empty bottles (damm expensive at this shop in town, 95p a bottle, with no cork or caps), probably will just buy bottled beer, drink them and then re-use the bottles

oh and a bit OT buy I finally got my turkey baster today
