Bottled water.

Noticed on quite a few threads the use of bottled water.
As this is relatively cheap in supermarkets my question is; does it make a difference ?
Or is it just as well to use tap water and a campden tablet?

It depends what you want to do with it.
Kit brewers, just use tap water and a campden tablet. The mineral and ion content is really of no concern unless you are mashing.
All grain brewers sometimes use bottled water if their tap water doesn't suit brewing a particular style. I can treat my tap water for ales, but if i wanted to do a nice clean pils then I would probably buy extremely low mineral content bottled water.
