I'll be bottling my first batch of beer at the weekend into glass bottles and want to add the finishing touch by adding a self-designed label. Any tips on type of label or adhesive to use to make sure I can get the thing off again when I come to re-use the bottle?

+1 for using milk - there's no smell and they come off easily.
I use glossy inkjet photo paper, as recommended by a fellow forumite, and I don't get any runs

I use Avery j8165 - 25 shipping labels from amazon

, perfect size for beer labels and a quick soak in warm soapy water they come off clean as a whistle.

I need to do some labels. I mostly just make educated guesses as to what's in each bottle.
