Bottle labels

I'll be bottling my first batch of beer at the weekend into glass bottles and want to add the finishing touch by adding a self-designed label. Any tips on type of label or adhesive to use to make sure I can get the thing off again when I come to re-use the bottle?

If you're printing them yourself inkjet print runs and smears when damp, laser print works better.

Inkjet works if you give them a couple of coats of hair lacquer.

I mark the caps with a sharpie....DS=dry stout, CP=chocolate porter,BIPA=black IPA. ..you know it makes sense....

+1 for using milk - there's no smell and they come off easily.
I use glossy inkjet photo paper, as recommended by a fellow forumite, and I don't get any runs

, perfect size for beer labels and a quick soak in warm soapy water they come off clean as a whistle.

That's a great little site. Some of my friends are lactose intolerant so I might stick them on with something else.

this is exactly what I was looking for. Used Gimp to create labels but wasn't very happy with the measurements I was using. Thanks.

yeah i use a sharpie but put numbers on the cap that correspond to the brew so I know exactly what is in the bottle
