are bobek styrian goldings?

i cant find bebek to buy online at all and really want to mak a bitter and twisted clone that uses bobek

Are they, or are they a hybrid. I keep reading different reports, but they seem the same :?

themaltmiller sells them as does barley bottom. Barley Bottom also sell a recipe kit for bitter and twisted should you want to order that or just copy the recipe. I would add some late hallertauer to that recipe for bitter and twisted though.

ok i want to .....mimic... bitter and twisted using the BB clone

maybe in the spirit of science i will do it with S Gold just for fun!!!

This is the recipe I used from Barley Bottom....It was a great brew :thumb:

23 Litres
Marris otter 3Kg
Crystal malt 200g
Flaked Barley 200g
Torrified Wheat 200g

Mashed at 66oC for 2 hours

Fuggles AA5.9% 2oz 90min
Styrian Golding AA2% 1oz 15min
Irish moss 1tsp 15min
Styrian Golding AA2% small hand full added when boiler turned off.

Yeast safale S-04

Here is what I went for using the BB recipe as a basis. It turned out nicely, but not bang on B&T. I would change the Mt Hood for Hallertau Hersbrucker if I was doing it again. Also would probably go with 15 min instead of 20 min additions. I went with Mt Hood as it was the closest thing to Hallertau I had to hand.

For 23l wort

Grain
4.50 kg Maris Otter
300g crystal
200g Flaked barley
200g Torrified wheat

40.00 g Pilot (7.8 ) 90 minutes
12.00 g Mt. Hood (4.0) 20 minutes
15.00 g Bobek (5.3) 20 minutes
12.00 g Mt. Hood (4.0) 0 minutes
15.00 g Bobek (5.3) 0 minutes

mash temp 66 degrees celcius
