Best one pot system for a complete novice

My mate wants to get in to brewing bit doesn't want a three vessel system like I have but is looking for a single pot system. I know there's the grainfather and several other cheaper version s. Do they all perform the same or do you get better results for the extra expense.

Newer systems have come along since this thread was posted but the Grainfather is still very popular amongst members and the Braumeister is still on many peoples wish list if money was no object.

I love my 10 litre braumeister have probably brewed about 150 batches in it and would highly recommend it or the 20l version. But the easy brewer and it's ilk are great too and I use mine about every 4th brew Easybrew-30 PLUS All-in-One Brewing System + Wort chiller pre-order for €271.9 • Braumarkt I usually use this for split batches or very heavy brews as the braumeister has limited malt capacity.

I had the grainfather and ended up selling it after about 10 brews and replaced with the easy brewer, it's foot print, lack of a spigot and cooling type were not to my liking. It's not bad but was more cumbersome of a brew day for me especially as I only had the braumeister to compare to at the time.
