No - they're very different - Occam's Razor is "entities should not be multiplied beyond necessity", sometimes inaccurately paraphrased as "the simplest explanation is usually the best one."

No, my understanding of Occam's Razor is that when choosing between theories to explain something, you pick the one that requires making the least assumptions. Usually taken to mean when in doubt, the most simple explanation is probably best.

Do things beyond our sphere of existence exist? Despite all the talk of black holes etc we accept that they exist in good faith. If we didn't would it matter anyway? We may want proof of God's existence but why are we owed one? People who believe in God find solace and do tend to have more children, thus, faith in God helps ones survival. Who are we to say that they are wrong when, ultimately, they will outnumber us?
