Okay so I am gonna set up my beer brewing kit tonight and I need a little help before I go ahead and put it together what should I know like does the O-ring go in the inside of the bucket, what temp to keep it at and should I just use cold or hot water when making it stuff like that only asking cause I know it won't be perfect the first time but I would like to get it right the first time. Before you do anything read your kit instructions, and then read them again.
Then this might be of help....

Next and most importantly, before you add anything to your FV make sure your it is clean and sanitised inside. And the same goes for anything that comes into contact with the wort. If you have no sanitising chemicals boiling water is the next best thing.
If you are are referring to the rubber seal, that should sit on the outside behind the flange on the tap, with the backing nut on the inside.
If your kit is liquid malt extract based, pour about a litre of off-the-boil water into the FV, then add the extract then use a (sanitised) mixing spoon the mix it, and then any other sugars. Then add water out of the mains tap to get the right temperature, but keep mixing . In the absence of anything else aim for 20*C, which means you may have to add more off-the boil water
Hope this helps.
Best of luck with your brew. athumb..

Thanks for that I just needed a little help and this was all I needed it probably wont turn out perfect as long as I can drink it and it tastes good I'll be happy =)

I know it sounds obvious, but make sure the tap is switched off before adding anything to the fermenter! Don’t want wort all over the floor.

Any chance of an update on how this turned out? I just bought the same kit and would just like to know your experience with it

Thanks

I did everything well I put together the bucket and I put the malt syrup in along with the sugar and started to top it up to the I think the 23 litre mark I was almost there I heard a dripping sound and thought "what the hell is that" I continued putting water in and heard the drip again and found I didnt fit the O-ring tight enough and it was leaking I tried to fix it but it would not stop leaking after an hour of trying to fix it I said "screw this" and dumped the mixture outside I'm sure the kit itself works but the bucket that I got was absoloute garbage.
