Been reading up on brown ale and was reminded of something that lots of people used to do (me included) - pour a bottle of brown onto a half empty pint of bitter to make a black & tan (other names are available).

Anyone do this with their own beer? Why not give it a go now? Perhaps find a sweet dark one and mix it with a pale bitter one and see if the resulting mix is an enhancement, or just disgusting. Might be fun to see how it goes.

I like a stout added to almost anything. Especially cider, which I would buy and not make. At £2 for 2L, it makes sense to make beer and buy cider for mine.

Black velvet is something I was only able to re-appreciate once I had forgotten the taste on the way back up, as it were.

That did take a long time. Many years, in fact.

So, right now, I am drinking a Woodforde's Wherry and stout. So there!

I like lager with half a shot of tequila and some lime juice in. Really refreshing and great to add a little something to boring lagers like Fosters. It's basically my cheapo version of Desperados!

The Purple Rain, a beer cocktail invented after sitting thru the cinema showing of the film with the same name,

a bottle of holsten pills poured into a pint glas with a double shot of blackcurrent cordial, topped up to the brim with pernoid..

to be drunk while singing to the purple rain tune..
'purple rain, purple rain, watched me dad shoot himself in the brain,
purple rain purple rain watched the brain wash down the drain....'

it was a very depressing film.. So drastic getting ****** quick was called for..
