I use a HERMS system and have batch sparged for most of its life. At the beginning of this year however my annoyance at disturbing crystal clear runnings via batch sparging got the better of me and I have now reverted to fly sparging. My initial decision to batch sparge was to save time. I found that due to having to recirc for clear runnings after disturbing the mash, the time saving was negated
