Hi everyone. Got a slight problem. I have this Bitter on the go. On Sunday the gravity was 1015/16. today it is around 1012/13 so it looks like it's still going down. The air lock has a gurgle now and then but very infrequent. I could really do to getting this brew in the barrel today due to work commitments otherwise i could do it on Sunday [at a push] but would it be ok to barrel It now or is that a no no.

You're best off waiting until Sunday if you can ... Might drop a couple more points.

What kit are you using, and when did you brew it? What was the SG at start?

Hi lovelldr and graysalchemy.

It's been in the f v for 23 days its a coopers bitter starting gravity was 1049/50 [Yes i typed right] High reading i know

Yep but if it isn't stable then it hasn't finished regardless of how long it has been in the FV. For one thing it will be as cloudy as dish water which means when it does settle then it will settle in the keg and not in a secondry. That will cause you all sorts of problems IMHO.

Thanks for that. Mind made up then. Ill just get up a few hours early on Sunday. I don't like to keep it to long in the fv always think it will go off. It's coming out at 4.8% at the mo which sounds like its going to be a strong bitter.

Thanks for the advice as always Guys big :thumb: up . CIB

Well the gravity had not moved since Wednesday looks to be on 1012 the air lock still gurgles now and then but i couldn't wait any longer [work and hectic family life ] so it's barreled up. Fingers crossed.
