I'm the third church going Christian.
I reckon life is hard for all of us.
If some of us cling to a liferaft, that's OK. If some of you want to come on board for a time, that's OK. If some of you are happy swimming, that's OK too.
I'd like to think we can all tell each other our stories with sincerely and respect.
So I guess it saddens me a bit when people shut down/put down/mock faith. **** it - life is hard enough without pissing on someone else's chips.
Cheers
Martin
That's the most blasphemous thing I've seen on this threadI haven't tried many but I can't find one I really like
Please educate..
Nah, we're all entitled to our own viewpoints and it wouldn't be right to force our views on othersPlease educate..
If you mean Trappist specifically rather than just Belgian beers then personally I love both Rochefort 8 and 10, they're rich, fruity, subtly spicy and just divine. The oak-aged La Trappe Quads are also delicious, like Christmas cake in a glass. For something a little different Orval is a fantastic beer, but if you've never had a brett beer it can be something of an acquired tasteI wouldn't mind a pointer on say four I should try ..
Another claim without evidence!Ah but can you atheists deal with the indisputable fact that church going Christians brew the best beer in the world....
Dammit, An Ankoù, you and Dutto are not my children. And, just like you and me, a son of God!
Monks aren’t just “church going Christians” though are they? They go to more extremes than even the happiest-clappiest of happy-clappers!https://www.thebulletin.be/westvleteren-best-beer-world-again
Westvleteren consistently voted best beer in the world.
Made by a community of atheists who never go to church.......
Is that right?
I've never seen happy-clappy monks! They are serious but not joyless. Happy clappy is surely an American revivalist/born again phenomenon.Monks aren’t just “church going Christians” though are they? They go to more extremes than even the happiest-clappiest of happy-clappers!
I believe Acid and other psychotropic / hallucinogenic substances are an escape from reality. That is the point in taking them? Say no to drugs. Matrix is sci fi again not reality not yet anyway?Really? You never watched The Matrix? (not suggesting it's real, it just asks the right questions) Never heard of acid and other psychotropic / hallucinogenic substances? How do we know that we experience reality when we apprehend our surroundings?
I didn’t say they were happy clappy, I meant they were more extreme than even the most fundamental of “church going Christians”.I've never seen happy-clappy monks! They are serious but not joyless. Happy clappy is surely an American revivalist/born again phenomenon.
