The flame goes past the top of my road on Saturday. I'm no Killjoy but the whole thing leaves me distinctly underwhelmed.

To quote Al Murray "London 2012? It's gonna be a bit s~~t"

Is anyone that bothered by them? Or would the money have been better spent elsewhere?

I lost interest on the day they revealed the logo.

I really can't believe they continued with that identity.

Did anyone retain a copy of the animated logo? It seems to have been expunged from the interweb, but it's like that image of the black candlestick, once you've seen it as two white faces nose to nose then you will always see it as two white faces. Same with the Olympic logo, once you've seen it as Lisa Simpson giving a ******** then the Games lose all credibility.

Quite the imagination you have there Moley. But scarily I can see it too

I didn't imagine it, an animated .gif went viral within hours of the logo being revealed.

Try googling it, or start here.

Over hyped and not interested. A total waste of money. I wonder who will benefit? Not me or our area. Although we might as all the people trying to escape have to go somewhere.

Great opportunity for the country...

...to sit back with a beer and watch some sport on telly! :drink:

I will watch it on tv but its not something I'm getting excited about. It was a joke when we weren't going to be allowed to fly the Saltire at Hampden, I'm glad the clowns in charge changed their minds. I hope the GB, sorry English olympic football team gets humped into the bargain :D .

Oh I can't wait.... I work for the police and its a major work load for us. I lost interest in it when they have refused to allow any annual leave from our staff this summer, they will start accepting requests in September. So no families can have a holiday in the school break this year, and we dont get any extra pay for deviated shifts extra workload etc unlike bus and train drivers in London. I will enjoy watching the sport but wish it was held abroad....

I have always liked watching the Olympics so I don't why this should be any different. Watching the news this last week I have big worries about security, G4S don't seem to any idea who they have taken on and Boris doesn't give a ****, just passing the buck as usual. I would be amazed if terrorist have not already got passes and uniforms ready and waiting. To a certain extent I'm pleased there will be squadies around, at least they will do a professional job. The other think that amazes me is the mountain biking is taking part about 5-6 miles from me at Hadleigh castle, mountains in Essex, the flattest county in England !

i will be watching the wrestling, judo along with a few others like i always have but it doesnt really make it any more special for me it being in london im afraid

The what?

I've only heard about it on the TV, radio, posters, conversations at the pub, shoved down my throat with a rusty fork etc etc

sick of it, absolutely sick of it.

sick of it, absolutely sick of it.

not interested then ?

wonder how much hot dogs will be selling for in London this year.... Charged me £7.50 a few years ago on the bridge near Big Ben

I am sick of it, the country will come to s standstill yet again.

The logo is like something of the 80's I bet all the stewards will be in shell suites and have permed mullets

That sculpture looks like it was designed by a bunch of youth workers on a day trip to Alton tower's, with a bunch of delinquents.

Dread to think what the opening ceremony will be like.

We will probably win a few medals in cycling Swimming and tidlywinks.

The only thing to lookforward to is beach volleyball.

Yeah but that included free salmonella. No hot dogs at the Olympic site, that's the concession for Mc **** burgers.

What a bunch of whingers. Really looking forward to London 2012. I have always loved and been inspired by the Olympics. I hope to watch with my kids and for them to feel the same! Sport is a positive and brilliant thing in a world full of hate and stupidity.

I am feeling very embarrassed for a total cock up , rip off and down right foolishness that will most likely happen , it also makes me sick on the cost which we should be spending else where (like the forces) . doubt i'll be watching it (much)

Just flicked through the Virgin EPG- there are 48 channels of BBC Olympic coverage (alright 24 in both SD & HD). The only thing that has fired my interest so far is Eurosport will be broadcasting a 3d channel. 3D projector +98 inch screen indoors.Maybe the volleyball will be worth watching!
