Third pale ale in the bag (or bucket!) in 7 days made yesterday. Summer stocks are looking promising. I put together a pale ale with some of the odd bits left in the freezer.
So I've got:
4500g Pale
180g Brown (I did say the bits)
Mash 65c for 2hrs with 20ltr - then double sparge with 10ltr (happy with my improve sparging, now improve my efficiency to 71%

15g Target @75mins
1/2 tab floc @15mins
15g Cascade @10mins
25g Norther brewer @ turn off.

Just pitched Crossmyloof ale yeast in 23ltrs. OG 1.044 - which is bang on the money.
So should have an interesting brew here at about 4.5%. Not sure if I will dry hop this one, as I'm not really a fan of farting about too much once it's in the FV.

Will do. I can't say there is any colour take on from the brown, although at 180g I can't see it would have too much impact. But I made two pale ales the week before one with MO and torrified wheat and the other with MO and flaked barley. So it will be interesting to see how the 3 stand up to each other. I'll post some pics etc when I can.

@Zephyr259 This brew, hops aside was the same as the two previous pale ales, bill weight the same. The difference with this one was i used 20ltrs in the mash tun (more than previously) Left for 2 hours, took off the first runnings and added 10ltrs for sparge. I ran the second running's off after about 15 mins, with plenty of stirring beforehand, then reintroduced the 10ltrs of sparge water to the mash. give it a good stir then run of the sparge water off slowly. I did add a bit of extra time to the day, but I did get good results.
