I am going to Amsterdam next week to see Wales play The Netherlands in Rotterdam.
Can anyone recommend any bars/beers that I should seek out?

Definitely go here, one of the first making a good IPA in the NL, but most are Belgian slanted.
Columbus is amazing.

I've been to Amsterdam a couple of times. It's hard to avoid having a good time there.

Last time I went there I was in a bar in the middle of Amsterdam and this is 4 years ago, it cost me 12.5 euros for a pint and half or there metric equivalent. I am from Yorkshire so you can guess what was said " Ow Much!!!"

Was also going to reccomend here, it's a bit of a trek from the city centre but well worth it.

Just looking through this now, we are flying tomorrow morning and will have Monday afternoon and Tuesday to explore. Unfortunately the Brewers Tears tap rooms aren't open on Mondays or Tuesdays, but the other suggestions look good (although we won't be visiting the Heineken brewery

We love Amsterdam, and have been there I think four or five times. This is one of my favourite bars

EDIT - you need to try the toilets out in there as well, super steep narrow stairs with the door at the top step, how no one injures themselves is remarkable.

Oh and if you are willing to spend a bit on a smart cocktail, the coolest bar in town is in my view in the Hotel Andaz, which is open to everyone. Bit expensive though. Worth a nosey for the way out there decor if nothing else.

Thanks everyone, we had a great trip, even though Wales lost.
De Brabantse Aap, “In de Wildeman” and Brouwerij de Prael all had good beer. I think I liked “In de Wildeman” best. When we arrived they were just closing (it was late). When I explained that we had come there especially on a recommendation they let us in for one beer.
We ate at Vegan Junk Food Bar Good food, even though I am a meat eater. They have some good beers from Two Chefs Brewing - Beer with serious flavour from Amsterdam

Oedipus Brewing - taste colors was just around the corner from our hotel but their tap room wasn't open the days we were there.

The match was in Rotterdam, we went to Home | Biergarten Rotterdam for sustenance beforehand. Highly recommended.

Late to the party, but for a great selection of beers, I very much love In De Wildeman and BROUWERIJ DE PRAEL . Even though it's just next to the shopping street, there's been quite many locals too. Pricing is quite decent in there.

Just going to scroll thread now. i'm off with the wife next weekend and whilst she doesnt mind at all popping in to craft beer place for a couple she tends to frown upon me organising the holiday around them!

So aiming to "randomly" discover one or two. anyone recommendations in the museum quarter?

my guide book describes the butchers tears as beig tucked away at an end of an industrial alley where you can drink in the car park. hard sell to the Mrs that one

the bols museum opposite van gogh museum is a little different 2 free samples and a cocktail were included in the entry price.

Managed a couple of the craft places which were decent but surprisingly our hotel had a beer on draft that I enjoyed as much as any! Think it was a white beer or white IPA.

I’m not normally a fan of light wheat beers as I find them to perfumed but this was different. It reminders me of the Icelandic pale ale you can get but even better.

I’ve attached a pic of the pump.

Anyone one know it? Or does anyone have any recipe ideas around it?
