Any folk comment if this would be correct.
I have some dried lactic acid that I would like to mix with distilled water to make a liquid solution.
I believe it is 88 percent.
Is it as simple as 88 grammes of lactic acid to 100ml distilled water.
Fwiw it is the generic homebrew repacked stuff so I don't know the strength.

Lactic acid powder, is most likely to be a mix of Lactic acid and Calcium Lactate, probably with Silicon Dioxide added, to keep the powder free running.
It's often sold as 55% or 60%.

Being partly a salt, it's not so effective (as liquid lactic acid) at reducing mash ph. Though is more stable than lactic acid, which is hydroscopic.

Commononly suggested is: ¼ teaspoon powder added to the standard mash will lower the pH (increase the acidity) by around 0.1, but nowhere seems to say what volume a 'standard mash' is !
As the powdered form also adds Calcium, you'd maybe want to reduce any other additions of calcium to the mash.

Might be hard to convert to liquid solution, as solubility of Calcium lactate (pentahydrate) in water: 79 g/L at 25°C. And you wouldn't get 80% lactic acid anyway.
