Does anyone use aluminium pots.
Have seen lots on ebay for sale.
Or is stainless better.

also found this BYO article by John Palmer from 2007 ... I guess I've steered away from aluminium because of the Alzheimers scare a few decades ago (apparently not an issue), but interesting that I can't find any aluminium pots on the mainstream homebrew shops websites. I know that I'm 100% comfortable using stainless pots/kettles/fermenters (brewing and cooking). They are durable and easy to clean (with the right chemicals) and nice to look at but apparently nothing wrong with aluminium.

I use an aluminium pot. It's not anodized or anything so the first time I used it and boiled some water in it the inside went all black and I was like WTF!!?? but after a quick google I discovered this was aluminium oxide and it actually acts as a protective coating
