I recently had a high OG surprise and I'm thinking "Why would he dilute it from 15 litres to 24'ish?" so I'll go for:

OG 1048 and FG 1010

The name? "Elliot Ness" The G-man who fought the Mob during the prohibition era! :thumb:

Was topped up from 15 to 18

Cue hasty recalculations...you said 24L in a previous post.

This could be controversial!

Ooo bugger sorry I was commenting on the wrong thread.

It is 24 litres sorry.

My other brew boiled down to 15 litres and I topped it up to 18.

My mistake, to many tabs open.

It was 15 litres with a kit added and topped up to 24

Appologies

Racking today, bottle tomoz. It's had 3 weeks in the FV 1 week more than I normally do but I was ill last weekend and couldn't be bothered.

Any more for any more?

I'm actually in Newcastle at the moment and won't be home till Wednesday where I have everything written down.

I was abducted by the in-laws as it was my birthday Friday.

So I'm affraid everyone will have to wait until then.

:-)

I'm going to give the best named bottle to IainM for the nerdy answer of primus smokebox.

I will double check my notes for the closest grav readings when I'm home tomorrow eve.

Congratulations IainM :-)

PM me your postal address and it will be with you in a week or so. You will need to let it settle though and will probly benefit from some more conditioning.

Congrats Iain, rest of you only 24 hours go. ;-)

Ah Fantastic. I never win anything! I'll very interested in seeing how the smoked malt works, and I'm keen to see if I can tell the difference between your partial mash and the kits I've been doing. I'll be sure to let you know. Thanks for the comp!

No problem :-)

Tasting on bottling day and the smoked isn't as profound as I would have liked. But it's a fine line between smoked stout and something that just tastes, well like railways. I've had some German smoked beers before that were far to smoked in my opinion.

I'll send it in the week via my works interlink delivery so should be next day delivery. I will PM you when I've sent it.

It will need to stand for a week or two.

:-)

Brumbrew

Next winner tomorrow eve.

Ok guys I'm home.

OG 1.063

Think it was the demerar sugar that bulked up the gravity.

FG 1.013

So I believe laryF you've won it. :-)

PM me your postal details and the bottle will follow shortly.
