Hi all

Just weighed out my grains for tomorrow's brew day, following this recipe I made up with help from you guys :D Was aiming for something malty and not too bitter.

(I changed the name from Malty Moose since the screenshot was taken   )

Here's the grain...

Aiming for a 90 minute mash at 67c/68c, fly sparging, 90 min boil, using my new immersion chiller plus protofloc. Using nottingham yeast.

I'll try and add photos tomorrow or Sunday, wish me luck! :thumb: :D

I'm not sure about complicated, but dark could be because of 3% choccie, looks tasty though, whats the batch size? :drink:

The littlun got us up early so I thought I may as well get up and get the brew on

Heated my strike water and added the water followed by the grains to the mashtun.

Strike water was at 76 but I think my grain was a little warmer than usual as I got a higher than desired reading...

Well, It's just losing It's final couple of degrees c in the brew fridge, I'll pitch at 18/19c and a 18c fermentation temperature with Nottingham.

Just waiting for the hydro reading to settle out but it looks spot on 1.048 :D

Got spot on my intended volume too

I am going to be making something similar on Sunday/Monday (overnight mash).
I have been worrying about my grain choices, but your brewday piccies and thread have made me feel better about it!
