just looking for some advice as im new to hb.
i have a bitter kit in the FV. when i checked it at day 6 the reading was 1020 and stayed there for 3 days. stuck i thought, so i gave is a gentle stir up and fermentation seemed to kick in again. i noticed the the airlock was slowing down again after a few more days so i took another reading yesterday which was 1014. checked again today and its 1012.
Now what i was wanting to ask is..... will the beer be OK still? as its being in the FV now for 14 days.
the kit said it should be only 5-7days but i cant go on that as it was stuck for a few days
i didn't want to bottle it today as it still seems to be fermenting, going by the air lock and Hd. reading

Nothing wrong with fourteen days, just do a taste test to see what it's like, quality control ;)

1.012 after 14 days. i'd say bottle it. dont use too much priming sugar, 1/2teaspoon per pint will be fine.

also, maybe, check your hydrometer.

I've left kits brews in the fv for 4 weeks without any problems, I'd leave it until you get two readings the same.

I left my last brew in the FV for 14 days with frequent QCs. I was nearly a litre light by the time I bottled it :D

The kits always say a week or so in the FV for some reason, but the longer the better in my experience - ensures it's fully fermented and gives it time to clear down even more. My longest was just over 3 weeks and it was perfectly fine and clear as a bell.
