Did a fast and dirty dme pilsner yesterday. The boil was a strong rolling boil. And i threw in a whole protofloc instead of my usual 1/2.
Today i have this floating monster in my fermenter. Im hoping its too much protofloc and it will be fine. Time will tell
 
Yes that looks like the effect of too much carrageenan - aka protafloc. It should settle out but only after fermentation as it can bind the yeast and so gets repeatedly circulated by the CO2 production. Your fermenter losses will likely be a wee bit more than usual through increased trub but that's about all really.

I should know better. I did it back in the day when we were using coolboxes as mashtuns, and I had 5 galls of cauliflower bits..
