During the quest to further my general knowledge I came across this profound question which I felt I needed to know the answer too and because their was a rather heated discussion the other week in the snug in which Brewmarc promised to share his knowledge on principals of flight I thought the group might like to know the answer too.

The answer may surprise you.

"What is the primary advantage of rotary-winged aircraft over fixed-winged aircraft?"

no the blades push the air down but it comes back up again, have you seen how a hovercraft uses the down draft to inflate the cushion it rides on
 
Yes, but it comes back off the ground, so you've got a few feet of very turbulent air.

More research / evidence of this phenomenon required, I think.

I've seen the cushions she uses to ride on though :thumb: :whistle:
 
looking at the pic the guy next apears to be holding a camera and it looks like its pluged in to bottom of the helecopter so they are prob making a porno movie
