    canned malt with grain question?

So recently I have massively reduced free time (just had a baby) so I'm using canned malt extract. I got some extra grain though to try and mask the 'tinny' taste. How long do you guys think I should boil the grain for and at what temperature? Cheers

    Parsley Pale Ale!

Today I'm going to try and recreate a beer I saw being described in an interview with one of the guys from Stone Brewing Co. I've got a huge bag of parsley, a tin of pale malt and I have a bag of Columbus hops. I've only done 3 brews before and I'm pretty out of practice. My questions...

    Extract help.

Not following a recipe, as much as I look I can't seem to find one, so I'm going to try this (unless someone here says otherwise); Heat 15L of water to about 60C add malt extract, heat further to 80C and add 5g hops (I'm using Columbus hops), Simmer for 10mins, Add a further 5g hops with my...

    Extract help.

I'm going to brew a pale ale, I have a can of malt extract for it and a bag of Columbus hops. I'm wondering if I should bother with steeping grains, and also what kind of sugar I should use, last time I brewed with a malt extract I used a kilo of brewing sugar (?) so can I use a normal type of...

Moving off of my electric hob

Lol, yeah I'm starting to get worried now. Do you think this burner will simply not be powerful enough to brew?

Moving off of my electric hob

The last all grain brew I did was so difficult because of the electric hob, it took 4 hours to the 19L of wort to boil so I just got a gas burner and regulator from ebay, can't wait to get back to all grain brews :D

    Peppery pale ale

Not quite decided yet, I did a boil and infusion for my spiced brown ale but I have a muslin bag so I could just throw it into the boil with the hops. I'll let you know :)

    Peppery pale ale

Going for a pale ale tomorrow, I'm going to flavour it with pepper and parsley. I wanted this to be an all grain brew but I'm waiting for my new propane burner to come, so unfortunately this is an extract brew. I'm using Columbus hops.

    Whats everyone drinking?

Just finished the first bottle of my Spiced Brown Ale. It turned out very weak, around 2% but its very tasty. I had it fermenting at around 25C and took the bottle outside into the cold night air to drink it and i noticed that the colder it got the less i enjoyed it. Im happy with it though...

    Help me write a recipe

I want to try making a lager and I know what taste/texture I want but I'm not sure about what yeast or grain to use. I'm thinking of a peppery, herby taste that is light but full bodied with a medium ABV, maybe 5 or 6%. Ingredients wise I thought of pepper corns, parsley, coriander, lemon...
