    how far up on the pot would you put the return flow?

    15mm copper pipe will fit on to the inside of a tank connector with a little persuasion form a hammer. :D or you can use a file to take off the inside lip of the connector.

    yes I use mine with a PID controller. Where the body of the prob mets the screw thread there is a gap that liquid will leak from.

    These are the probes I use and have had no problems with them. you might want to give some thought as to how you will put them in you boiler/HLT as the probes is not waterproof and liquid will slowly leak out of the spring bit. This is how I use mine in my HERMS setup the construction is...

    Thanks for the advice. looks like the room might just be used for storage and I will brew elsewhere. There is a shed in the garden but we didn't look in it when viewing the house so I don't know what state it in. :?

    Hello I am about to move house and we will have a spare room with to my surprise the better half said I could have as a brew room!!! :thumb: :cheers: :D Problem is this is a rented house and the room in question is a bed room that has carpet wallpaper and other things that might not agree...

    hmmm I must of missed it when I was in there :oops: . Might have another look when I am passing tonight. I think a loweswater gold clone will be my next brew. I haven’t looked for a recipe yet but I think it’s my favorite Lakeland beer!

    I did think about making a yeast starter from a bottle of bluebird but all the bottle shops and supermarkets it tried did not have it. funny you can get it in the US but I couldn't in Scotland.

    hmmm could be mine is not to hot to the touch after running of 90 minuets but as you say its not inside a box. when you apply power is nothing happening at all?

    CO2

    as far as I understand it all co2 is the same. however food grade co2 tanks are cleaned out during refill to prevent anything nasty getting in to the beer. I use welding co2 and have had no problems.
