    It's Friday - Cheers

Well happy Friday everyone, let's get the weekend going. I've decided to have a drink tonight, I have a few Belgian beers I got for Christmas and plan to have a night in with a few of them Currently trying something called piraat at 10.5% and very nice it is too

airlocks - the short, 2" space saving cylindrical types

I had a similar problem, no matter how little water I tried to get away with, it would bubble out and the top of the airlock would pop off. I get around that now by filling it around a third if the way with water, putting the top of the airlock on, and securing it in place with a tiny bit of...

    New Job

Congratulations, especially as its so difficult out there. I think some home brew is needed to help you celebrate, as its such good news, I feel I will be forced into having a few later myself , well done once again

Double Chocolate Coffee Stout (with pics)

This looks great, I'm jealous I won't be drinking it!!! Saved this because I can't wait to hear how this one turns out. A chocolate stout is on my to do list, when I eventually have the time and space to brew again.

    Alco~Coke

I will probably try one of mine again this weekend, now they have been in the bottles for a little while. I think I mentioned this last time, but I would add a bit more coke concentrate than what is suggested, I found the flavour just slightly weaker than I would have hoped for, but its still...

When to give up on a brew?

Without even trying it to see what it tastes like, seems a bit wasteful. I'd be tempted to give it a go, see what the result is, make notes and learn from it. But each to their own

When to give up on a brew?

Wow that's a long time, how much is the gravity out by, if it's minimal and tastes ok, I'd just bottle it and be done with it. It could have just needed a gentle stir to get the yeast going again. I assume its not all grain, and its a kit, if its all grain perhaps some non fermentable were...

The Homebrew Company - site sponsor

Yep, can't fault them. My last order was quite a big one, and included a fermenting bucket which arrived damaged. Sent an email, got a quick reply and within a few days a I had a replaced item. I have found that my emails have always been answered quickly , and if you bulk buy, I think the...

    home cinema speakers

I'm still looking for a replacement for mine, I wouldn't go with a sound bar as you're not getting true surround sound, I'd go for some bookshelf sized speakers if space is an issue, and a decent sub woofer... Im keeping an eye out for kef egg speakers as an example. You may need to have a...

    Any retro gamers here?

Looking good, maybe just maybe I will give one of these a go myself when I get my brewhouse/gym built in the garden ... That's a long way off though. Had a look at a few bits online, didn't realise just how expensive the control pad bits are for those things. Sure it will be good fun once it's...

I'd be interested to see how you gp about building it, are you following any kind of guide, or wingin' it?

    Any retro gamers here?

Thumbs up for streets of rage!! If my flash cart for the n64 arrives I will have to let you know what its like. I should think I probably will eventually get one for the megadrive, but until that point I will hook up a spare pc to the tv with some game pads. I had a look on YouTube last night...

    Any retro gamers here?

Old psx games ay, I was looking around at those last night actually, die hard trilogy , ESPN extreme games, there are a fair few I would like to have a go at again, but I can't remember what half of them were called. The tv thing will be a bit of an issue with the n64 and megadrive, looking on...

    Any retro gamers here?

I think the flash cart route will be a good one, as you can play things as they were meant to be played, with the original control pads etc, its just expensive! I tried the pc/xbox option years ago (emulation and evox dashboard)... it was good, but it just wasnt the same, as the buttons were all...
