I will be using a baby burco... which I dont have with me right now as I have stored it elsewhere. From memory I think its 7.5Gals, but I will check today. Not sure on a brew length, id be happy with anything between 30 - 40 pints, maybe around 5%abv? As you can see I know very little about...

Well, I was going to hold off until I actually move into the house, but with work on it over running , I cannot wait any longer. I am going to be putting in an order online for a couple of cider kits to keep my partner happy, I figure that way she wont moan at me for spening money on beer...

It's FRIDAY the weekend is here, what you drinking?

As per title, the weekend (for me at least) is here, got off work early and cracked open a bottle of Midas touch, it's only been in the bottle around 5 weeks, but it's very good...just what I needed to welcome the weekend. So what are all of you drinking? And may I take this opportunity to wish...

Please help, Suitable grain bag/ball valve etc needed

Bit by bit I am getting my kit together ready to go All Grain   I dont have much at the moment, other than at 28L thermos coolbox, and a 33l baby burco. I think I will try the BIAB method first of all, so I am after a suitable grain bag. I have found a few and am wondering what...

Muntons midland mild ale - out of date brew experiment

Cheers Rob, im sure it will be ok :hmm: I have made a few out of date kits, it was mainly the flavapack thing and the use of tap water/campdem tablet which I am unsure on, as I have not done either before. its not even been a couple of hours and its already bubling and throwing the top part...

Muntons midland mild ale - out of date brew experiment

Just got this one going today, bit of a 'see what happens brew' as everything I used apart from the BKE was out of date, and the whole thing from sterilising to clean up was done in just over an hour. I just had a few bits laying about which I wanted to use up before going to AG Used tap water...

    AG#7 Guiness clone

This one also looks good, I wonder how much of a difference the souring makes. I'm new to all grain and am yet to make my first batch, so I've not heard of this technique. If it tastes like Guinness though, it's a winner!

    Today's bootsale bargain!!!

Cleaned up well, and put a couple of gals in it and it boiled well, plug got hot but no problems at all with it. Label states it holds 7.5g The muslin bags that came in another box of stuff I bought are very big, but I have no idea how much they would hold, I have two of them ,the old box...

    Today's bootsale bargain!!!

Well today I bought the following at a bootsale for the grand total of £1. I was expecting it not to work but to my surprise it does, so after a quick clean up I am now the proud owner of a baby burco in a lovely shade of white a blue. My question is, would this be suitable for biab? I also...

    Alco~Coke

Well at long last I made a start on the alco coke, added 800g granulated sugar to almost a full demijohn of water. I didn't have a spare hydrometer on me at the time, so could not take a reading. How do you actually work out what sort of percentage you should end up with, is there a way to...

Out of date Muntons midland mild ale

Hello, I hope everyone is enjoying the bank holiday weekend. I was hoping to get my midas touch bottled, but I took it out of the fermentation fridge where it has sat at around 18C to find it had stuck at 1.020 (exactly the same as the wherry did when I made it) so I gave it a gentle stir, and...
