    Hobgoblin bottles

Morning all, Ive been given some Hobgoblin bottles but my very old, two handled mechanical crown capper won't work on these bottles, the caps slip sideways. Its ok on all my other bottles. I have a basic crown capper, the hammer type, but have had a few mishaps in the past. Questions: Anyone...

    first time kegging

All I do is fit a length of silicone tubing to the tap and take my time pouring but I agree it is hard not to get tons of froth. Still tastes ok to me though. :p

    Sugar v Carbonation drops,

Yea, I agree, I did the same. When you first start home brewing you just follow the instructions but after a while you start to adapt the kits to make it easier. Anyway its all good fun!

Cant say it has improved with age, only that it seems slightly smoother but that may be my imagination. I'd be interested to see how it would come out making it with strawberries though, but I'm so impressed with it I plan to do another one using the same recipe but adding some ginger to give it...

    Air locks and fining questions

My method: I only brew from kits. I don't fit an airlock, I just leave the smallest of gaps between the FV lid and bucket. Don't scrape the yeast off, it's still working and will drop to the bottom of the FV when its finished (well most of it). Iv'e never used finings, when the fermentation has...
