    Local accents.

My accent could not be more Lancastrian if i tried and it don't half pee me off when people ask "where are you from in Yorkshire"?

    B&M kits

My IPA one started quickly and was still bubbling 5 days later though obviously not as much as early on. It had more or less finished by the time the hops had to be added.

    B&M kits

On B&M website they are £5.99 yet instore on the shelves they are still at £7.99. If you take one to the till it will go through at 5.99 or at least it did in the 2 stores I visited. Ask them at the till for a price check first.

    B&M kits

Managed to get the last 2 IPA kits in Skipton B&M today so am pleased i will be able to give them a try. I have a feeling that this will be an one and only delve into home brew from B&M and reading back it has been suggested these are rebranded Range kits. Do the Range kits include sugar & hop...

    Cloudy wine when chilled.

Thanks Chippy. I wondered if it may be that. This was the first time i had made a 12 bottle WOW rather than just a 6 and wondered if perhaps i had forgotten to double something up which may have resulted in this happening.

    Cloudy wine when chilled.

I have done a few WOW RGJ & apple and all have been okay. My latest batch has all cleared nicely before bottling and remain so until I put a bottle in the fridge. Within a couple of hours the wine has clouded up again. This has happened with a couple of bottles and when removed from the fridge...

    B&M kits

A few day on from my last post and the clinical taste has disappeared from the Real Ale kit and now left with a nice hoppy beer. Its a while since i have brewed what is essentially a one can kit with dextrose and have to say i am well impressed. At £8 i will buy another to brew as an...

    B&M kits

Just had a little taste of the real ale out of my barrel and it tastes a bit clinical. Maybe a bit longer and that will fade....hopefully.

    Retired - your plans.

Cruising slowly around the canals and rivers of the UK on our narrowboat keeps us occupied. Home brewing has its challenges when you live in a 55' x 7' steel tube.

    Old Beers and Brewing

Bit of a long shot here regarding O. B. bitter, and what an excellent pint it was when brewed at Henshaw St before Boddies ruined it. The Owl Brewery set up in Oldham a good few years back in the Hope pub in Oldham and brewed an O. B. clone. I feel sure the owner/brewer/landlord was something to...

    Wilko's Beer Enhancer

I managed to get one from a Wilcos I was passing though surpringly it was Muntons. Tried to order some more online but it is out of stock at the moment. Left my email address to be notified when back in stock. I suspect that the notification will come through the day they return to their usual...

    Chocolate malt amount

I realise it is probably down to personal taste but how much steeped chocolate malt would be considered to much in a 10l extract brew before it becomes unpleasant. Making a concoction before a few bits and bobs go out of date.
