How long do you condition for?

Not long enough, the last bottle always seems to be the best one.

    Newbie will need advice.

Welcome aboard, the only daft question will be the one you don't ask.

    Windsor stopped at 1.022

I did 3 brews with Danstar Windsor Sept - Nov last year and got 75%, 87% and 80% attenuation.

    Here we go again

Before we go out and start trying to police the rest of the world maybe we should look at policing our own streets first. The arms companies must just love the idea of us throwing million pound missiles around like it's Guy Fawkes night.

    Woodfordes Wherry Review

Beware the yeast that comes with the Wherry it's notorious for sticking at 1020. If you're getting your Wherry at Wilko split a pack of their Gervin yeast and use half the pack per individual tin or the whole pack for both tins. It's an excellent Nottingham yeast for £1.75 and it's never ever...

    Bottling dry-hopped beer

It's a trade off, there is an element of hop contact with the wort vs a lack grief when bottling. If you're racking off to a secondary a hop tea that's steeped rather than boiled may be an option.

    Bottling dry-hopped beer

I always dry hop using a weighted fine mesh bag and I can the bottle straight from the FV.

    Muntons Brue Gold Kit

I've ordered a muntons gold continental pilsner this week, just waiting on delivery. I'm thinking of tweaking it with a hop tea and a dry hop. I've currently got Sovereign, Bramling Cross, Northern Brewer and Challenger. I'll be bumping up the ABV to about 6% with dark brown sugar. And I'll be...

As newbie as a brewbe can be

What are you brewing? Some kits are notorious for sticking at 1020 because the yeast supplied leaves a lot to be desired. Don't bottle or keg it at 1020, I'd suggest something under 1010 that's stayed the same for 2 days on the trot. For the moment give it another 2 or 3 days and if the reading...

    Hello

Welcome to the forum, The Wherry is a lovely beer and gets better and better with age. The Tom Caxton, I've not done but the reviews are somewhat mixed. The Wilko kits I've done a lot of and they all need dressing up to the nines to get any flavour out of them at all. Saying that though they...

Bottles; where do you get them?

40 500ml PET's on Fleabay for £13 odd delivered. Been using some of them for 3 years now. Also my beloved loves the diet 7up so I get the 600ml bottles and I really like them. It's 38 to a 23L brew and I can prime them with 1tsp of sugar and its just how I like my beer carbonated.

Marvellous technique for finding lost items

He is so talking about my 15 year old twin boys. They will swear blind that they haven't seen it, touched it, even knew of its very existence when I've just found it in their bed. I share Chippy's OCD, a place for everything and everything in its place. The Good Lord in her infinite wisdom is...

    Under carbonation

Over the winter I carbonate near a rad. As I use PET's I can tell by squeezing the bottles, if they're not carbing up I give them a couple of days nearer the rad and they come out fine.

    Founding Fathers party

I don't think I'd want to be having this lot round for the weekend.
