I get them from pubs near me. If I give a couple of my homebrews to one of the bar staff they set aside all the bottles.
I probably have 300+ beers conditioning away in my house so I give them out to neighbours and friends and ask them to save the bottles for me.
I ask colleagues to save me any 330ml bottles. At some places I've worked we've had beer o clock, I set up a "glass recycling box" and I take it home with me. I usually join the social committee so I get to buy in the beers.

I do a 30 minute soak with hot water from kitchen tap with some sodium procarbonate. Does the trick

40 500ml PET's on Fleabay for £13 odd delivered. Been using some of them for 3 years now. Also my beloved loves the diet 7up so I get the 600ml bottles and I really like them. It's 38 to a 23L brew and I can prime them with 1tsp of sugar and its just how I like my beer carbonated.

That isn't the stuff I use. I buy pure Oxi clean off ebay. A bit expensive but you use a tiny amount and it' really powerful

I get the labels off my bottles with hot water and a scourer. I usually don't bother taking labels off unless I want to stick my own on which is a rare occasion.

As I understand it, Sodium Carbonate and Sodium Percarbonate are two different things, so the water softening granules won't have the cleaning effect of the various "oxi" products as they don't have the same oxidising properties.

I find the German beer bottles from my local pub are really good as the Germans love to reuse the bottles so make the labels so they come of easily. The worse are the plastic labels and I have asked the pub not to save those for me although they have trialed soaking in vinegar which seems smelly and expensive.

They sell a lot of the Williams Bros beer and they are not too bad for label removal.

I've just spoken with a barman at work and he can get me loads of Magners ones. Do the labels come off no bother with an overnight soak?

Best kind, they are strong bottles and the labels are so easy to come off.

Good bottles, they used to be better but still good. Too bad they come with mediocre lager
