    Cool box mash tun question

I also use a bag in my coolbox mash tun, with a small SS tea strainer strapped over the tap outlet inside the tun, to keep the bag from fouling the outlet, works great and cheaper than a manifold. I get clear runoff from the start, no stuck sparge & cleaning is a breeze! Good efficiency as well...

    Epic Fail

It's worth getting a few PET (plastic) bottles - Wilcos do em for about £8 for 24, use some to test the carbonation level over time, as they carb up they firm up quite well, also it gives you a few extra bottles - you never know when you will need em! Cheers

How many times have you brewed?

Numerous kits over the years, good, bad & indifferent but now planning my 11th AG early Dec, all the AG beers have been so much better than any kit I've ever used. And Santa is bringing me my 2nd Corny Keg, so SHMBO says! Cheers

Watched Assassins Creed on Saturday night, well made but rather disappointing I thought, didn't think much of the games also! Sad about Love Film - I was a member for years and watched a lot of good films in that time. I'm lucky as I can stream SD & HD movies OK, but not everyone can and Love...

How much was your first pint?

It was about 2 shillings a pint for bitter when I started, mild was about 1 shilling and 11 pence, wept bitter tears a few years later when the bitter in our local rose to half a crown a pint. Cheers

    Peco boilers

I have the digital Pico and it works fine for me, adding temporary insulation (I wrap a doubled bath sheet around it) during the boil works very well, gets 28 lit to a rolling boil and the plastic will not distort, yes it will stain over time and you must clean the element and tap carefully -...

King Keg - any good ?

Never tried King kegs, but the cheapo small neck barrels are not so good - ditching mine as I'm going the corny keg route, and bottles. Cheers
