    Which ball valve?

The three piece tap, bulkhead and washer that I sell cost £36.60 delivered. Exactly the same kit from BES costs £29.08. However, you can get brewing supplies from BES which is why brewers tend to buy from me. I don't sell a tap for £50.

    backpack mobile bar

They have been around a while, see here:- http://www.rocketpacks.de/drinkrucksack.html They just take a corny keg and basically a party tap Rob

Wai-Iti Hops - anybody used them?

They are fantastic. I tried a single hop brew from a customer and they were as distinctive as the first time I tried Amarillo, tropical fruit. They were in very short supply last year so I only managed to get 5kg and never managed to use them myself. Can't wait to use them in a simply pale ale...

    whitelabs yeast problem?

I would drop it on top then seal the lid and shake like mad, give it plenty of Oxygen. Just for future reference, whilst I know how the yeast has been transported to me and stored since i.e. at fridge temps you do need to take into account the shipping from me, and the age of the vial. This is...

    whitelabs yeast problem?

There is too many variables there. How old was the vial, how had it been stored and transported? Also the yeast vials are designed for 5 US gallons or 4 UK which is why making a starter is almost always the way to go. Rob

any idea where I get one of these in 1/2" bsp

Personally I wouldn't bother with cam locks at any price, hosebarbs and silicon tube is far better. Rob

any idea where I get one of these in 1/2" bsp

If you buy a socket like this:- http://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/index.ph ... ductId=398 You can then use the more easily available male hosebarb Rob

Protafloc tabs - why so big?!

Because they are designed for breweries not homebrewers. As homebrewers we are in a brilliant situation where we can get hold of pretty much everything that professional breweries use. To put up with having to quarter a tablet every 4th brew doesn't seem to bad, surely? Rob

    Shooting stars

Yep, they were talking about it this morning on the Today program, the main event has a very small window but there may well still be a show this evening. I have been "spotting" my entire life and have only ever been disappointed by apparent showers with either cloud or a no show. The best way...
