    Christmas Stout

With a grain bill of that size I would've been tempted to do a second mash and make a second beer out of the remaining sugary goodness.

I think if you soak it in vodka for a few days it's fine.

Have a look into orange essence you can buy it in sainsbury and probably other supermarkets. It's primarily used in baking but I'm sure it could be re purposed for your needs.

    Saison all grain odd taste

Leave it somewhere warmish and let it ride for a few weeks. If you've never tried a saison it won't taste like any been you've had before. I'm assuming you used a saison yeast?

    Peco boiler.

I too noticed that the markings aren't accurate. This is my reason for asking as I made a weisse beer for my first brew and ended up with around what I believed to be 22-23 litres in the fv bit my accurately marked fv told a different tale. I made it just over 20 litres in the fv.

    Peco boiler.

I have just received my peco boiler fitted with a hop strainer. Just working on a few recipes and trying to dial my numbers into beersmith. For anyone that owns one what is the boil off per hour and how much trub loss do you tend to have? I will generally be using hop pellets. Many thanks.

Why not split the batches into two? one with the orange and then one without?

    Pumpkin Ale

I think our American cousins tend to use a pumpkin spice mix.

Can a beer reach FG in a week?

Wheras stone brewery say to dry hop for 3 days. There's more than one way to skin a cat. Would be an interesting experiment to do a split batch with various lengths of dry hopping.

All sorted. Needless to say I was being extremely stupid!

    Wort chiller question

It doesn't fit! The connection on the chiller is to big to fit onto my hose connector.

    Wort chiller question

Hi guys I recently brought one of the £35.00 wort chillers from eBay. My skills and knowledge of DIY are zero to non existant! I have had a look at the adaptor from my garden Hose and it appears to be a different size. Any help to a complete buffoon would be great.

    Kopparberg Bottles?

I have about 150 koppaberg bottles and with a hand capper there is a nack to it. I tend to cap them twice. Do the first cap then turn 90 degrees and do it again.

    HBC Pilsner Yeast

I ordered this kit earlier in the year and it came with s-23.

How to remove bottle labels the easy way.

Good tip about the Kopaberg bottles. Whilst a hand capper struggles I find doing it both sides and it works fine. Best bottles bar none are erdinger. Labels peel right off after a short soak and they are tough as anything.
