Looks good, thats a great homebrew shop and the festival kits are great, ive done the landlord bitter and it was lovely. Good luck with it, best to get another going soon to build up a stock

    barons mexican cervesa

It was really nice, im told the bentonite calms down fermentation so it can look very calm but everything is happening fine. Not sure it was worth the extra money and my local has stopped stocking these now so i wont be doing it again, it was a very good kit though and the bentonite made the...

    AG#6 Guinness clone

Ended up kegging this and ive had a few pints off it now, its fantastic. A little more roasted flavour than a guinness in my opinion, was a big hit with my mate who is a guinness drinker. Would do this one again without a doubt

    Modding a coopers Canadian

That kit comes with a lager yeast but i brewed at about 18-20 and it was fine, you could do a mini mash instead of adding bke or spraymalt and then do a hop boil, or just steep a little cystal malt and then boil with some saaz.

Where do you get your ingredients from?

I use thehomebrewcompany.co.uk for most of my grains and hops, then i get most of my kits and sundries from my local shop brew2bottle

    Sanatized equipment

I followed the advice of coopers my time out and just rinsed everything with hot water and it turned out fine but knowing what i know now i would definately sanitize before use. You might get away with not doing it but when its so easy to sanitize stuff why not do it and just give yourself the...

No head on coopers english bitter

the english bitter suggests just using 500g of dme to make a low abv beer, replacing that with sugar will not have helped but the other points will be a big part of it too.

    Brew Enhancer 2

I would also use 1kg of light or extra light spraymalt, you could also get a muntons or other brew enhancer which is usually slightly cheaper

Bit of extra cash to spend!

You could easily buy a large second hand fridge and stc temp control for that money and might have a bit left over if you get a bargain on the fridge.

    Coopers, Canadian Blonde Review

Dont worry how it tastes now, the flavour will be very different after a few weeks conditioning time in the bottles, i personally really enjoyed this kit

Threw out my first batch! :(

How much priming sugar did you use? Ive had a coopers stout with carbonation drops and i found that was far too carbonated and kicked up alot of flavours that are normally quite mild

AG #1 - BIAB Theakstons OP

Did you mash first and then boil? or just boiled the whole lot? If youve boiled the grains rather than mashing them then you wont have extracted sugars i dont think and you will have extracted all the tanins and nasties that you dont want, i wouldnt have thought it will ferment properly and it...
