    Lemon Hooch

From memory I thought it just needed simmering to dissolve the sugar? Does it have preservatives? I thought the sweetener was left in ...... for sweetness. Rob.

    Drinkaware

Another update : Bottled successfully, warm conditioned and delivered. Syphon sample tasted very good, so much so Iv put a Brupaks English bitter on!! Iv told him he needs to put them in the cold and wait as long as possible (Christmas!?) before he tries one. So fingers crossed,

    Lemon Hooch

Hi Looch In my experience as soon as it's carbed up and chilled it's drinkable. Btw Iv heard the tomato purée trick but never dared try :D

    Mouldy bottles

I store mine upside down caps off, maybe your trapping moisture in them allowing mould to grow.

Afraid so Pete. I'm the tight *** from the big Gy remember lol. I'm thinking of trying a short section of 20mm tube as described somewhere else. Rob.

Is it possible to skunk a beer in a white fermentation vessel?

I could only guess.... but I'd say no, not this time of the year anyway! And interior lights don't put out UV rays which I assume is what does the skunking.

    Lemon Hooch

It's not how I remember Hooch or Smurf ice but give Second' credit it's cheap and drinkable. All my mates like it too.

    Bottling

Thanks Clibit! I had to use your jug method (without reading about it first) as I had a nightmare bottling from my bucket to new swing top bottles. Has anyone else had this problem - the tap is only just smaller than the hole in the bottle, it was forever bubbling up/forming a vacuum? And...

Fermentation time for Young's Rasberry and Mango kit

Hi Ben I'd go with your plan. I wouldn't worry about opening your FV, within reason, remember your brewing alcohol the same ingredient found in antibacterial hand wash?..... So if your hydro is steady, bottle her up. Like your style too btw low and long is how I roll :thumb: Rob.

Out of date John Bull Pilsner

Sounds suspect. I'm tight though so if I had the time and space I'd bung it on, new yeast though.

    Bulldog raja's reward IPA

Think Iv mentioned it before lammy, instructions quote 150g to prime, unless they've changed. I found 90g sufficient.

    Pressure barrell carbonation

I understand it as the sugar added in your barrel should create the fizz and bubbles (Co2) by a secondary fermentation. The Co2 from cylinders is just to push your beer out. If your disappointed with the look of your pint it's been said clean dry, glasses untainted by dishwasher residue help...
