Very slow fermentation Youngs American ipa

Why raise another thread for same subject? Your last one was here, and folks responded. https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/youngs-american-ipa.91344 The advice is the same. If its still fermenting you can't bottle it. Be patient, provided you don't keep taking the lid off every 5 minutes...

Would you still vote for Brexit?

You are absolutely not spot on. In summary There were many reasons for Brexit, and most are still there there. For me UK sovereignty was and is one of the main reasons. And the fact that the EU seem to perceive we are still a member and want to punish us for being naughty should come as no...

    1698 clone

There's a long thread about 1698 yeast here https://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/threads/shepheard-neame-1698-yeast.60341/ When I used it so time ago I found it so top fermenting I had to keep turning it back into the beer to keep the fermentation going. 1698 is one of my favourite beers and is...

    Coopers euro lager advice

Why not brew the entire can as intended and put half in the machine and the rest in bottles? But If you want to only brew half the can I suggest you keep it in the fridge and use it up as soon as possible. Or, as another option which is just an idea and not tried, you could fully dissolve the...

5 litre mini keg (supermarket type)

Be aware that shop bought minikegs can be subject to lining degradation after a very small number of uses which means your beer ends up with a metallic taste. A friend gives me used minikegs from time to time, but I now use them once only and then chuck 'em because I don't want to have five...

    Curry...!!

I found this recipe recently, and can recommend it for simplicity and the relatively short time it takes to prepare https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/aromatic_beef_curry_90850 All the spices are powdered (for a change), and most, if not all, should be in the average curry chef's ingredients...

OK to add treacle to Stout just before bottling?

If you carefully read through what I said you will find answers to your questions.

OK to add treacle to Stout just before bottling?

5 or 6 g of treacle per litre will give you adequate carbing. Any more or considerably less and then I would allow it to fermeny out first, then bottle and prime with sugar as normal or you could over or undercarb your stout. And make sure the treacle is dissolved in some boiling water before...

    Bottle bother!

I fill my bottles to 20-25mm from the top, squeeze the air out and when they are fully carbed they will end a little below that.

    Bottle bother!

I am interested to know why you only part fill your bottles. I also use PET but almost fill them and like you squeeze the air out. However you appear to use 3 times the amount of sugar I use. And my carbing levels are fine.
