    re-use glass bottles

Has anyone tried re-using the aluminium (Bud) bottles? I wanted to try for my current brew but the bottler couldn't handle it (Youngs?)

    Coopers Irish Stout

Hi Shipstone I did this kit before Christmas and I loved it, would defo do again. I dont know about Ferm Fridges but I would leave the brew fermenting for about 2 weeks if you can or until you get 2 or 3 steady grav readings. I then had mine in bottles for a couple of weeks outside and it...

    Brewday panic

Hi 568ml I also had this situation with my current tipple. I dont believe it will be a problem, the key being to stir until it dissolves. Should be fine.

    Coopers Stout

Hi Larry Mine also went mental (http://www.thehomebrewforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=49779), the blow off tube really works, cheers Chippy, and I think mine was mental for 3 / 4 days. Its a great brew though, enjoy.

Cooper Canadian Blonde with Lager yeast

Hi, I have just bottled my Cooper Canadian Blonde and was surprised by the taste I had whilst bottling it. I invested in some lager yeast (Mangrove Jacks M84 Bohemian Lager) to make this more lager like and I also added a Saaz hops tea for the last 3 days. I was really surprised by a strong...

Is it worth adding hops to my Coopers Canadian Blonde kit?

Hi, I have read a few threads about adding hops but they seem to be mostly advocating adding them to the boil or flameout (whatever that is). So my question is, should I add some Saaz hops to my kit beer whilst it is in the FV? If so, should I make a tea of it (and then chuck the lot in) or...

    How much yeast to use?

Hi just about to start a Coopers Canadian Blonde and I have invested in some lager yeast (Mangrove Jacks M84 Bohemian Lager). The sachet is 10 grams but the original is 7 grams so should I only use 7 grams worth? Thanks

Coopers Stout with Liquorice - It's on !

Shame about the sweetness. I can only think it might be the liquorice powder as mine is not sweet at all. Dont let it put you off the kit, I will defo make this again, maybe add treacle and or vanilla.

    Conditioning temperatures?

Hi I'm a newbie myself but I read this forum regularly and it seems to be a standard practice to keep the beer indoors for a couple of weeks (in the bottles) and then move them outside. That is what I did with my Coopers Stout and it is a doing very nicely. After a week outside I tasted it and...

    Coopers stout

Hi. I have recently bottled my Coopers Stout, only my 2nd brew, and I used liquorice rather than treacle but I think this is a proven kit and mine tastes lovely. Yours should be too :drink:

Coopers Stout with Liquorice - It's on !

Well, I have cracked a couple of these already and I have to say I am very pleased with the results. Although the liquorice taste has diminished, there is still a hint. I used sugar to prime each bottle for this brew and it seems to have worked well, there is a pfssst when I open the bottle...

    Hi all advice please

As an alternative Pablo, although not strictly lager, the Coopers Mexican Cerveza is easy to make (it was my first brew) and reliable. Plus it tastes nice. Tesco or Wilko regularly have it on offer but might cost £13/14 at other times

    Too cold to condition outside?

Thanks JAK I think beer can freeze at around -2 What do others do to prevent this (assuming no cellar)?

    Too cold to condition outside?

Hi brewers. I have recently bottled my Coopers stout into bottles and am nearly ready to move them outside into my shed. This morning saw the first frost of the Autumn/Winter and made me wonder, can it get too cold in my shed for the beer to condition? Do I need to insulate them? I am not...
