Weird/Funny that its called an Imperial but has a 'normal' ABV
It is the IBU that is the game changer, not the ABV. Curiosity drew me to it. Looking forward to how it turns out.Weird/Funny that its called an Imperial but has a 'normal' ABV

26 minutes in carried out an iodine test as I read a lower mash pH converts the starch quicker. Looks like it's right.

Just a note - I think you are missing a factor in your spent grain water absorption calculation. You need to subtract the actual extract from the grain in weight terms.A squeeze of around 35 kg

Been thinking about doing this for a while, and finally got around to it. Weighed the spent grain in the grain basket, 9.27 kg, less the weight of the grain basket 2.5 kg =6.77 less the total weight of grains used 5.10 kg leaves me with 0,32 litres per kg of grain loss.

I also made some interesting measurements during my full volume mash yesterday but I always feel I need more…it just opens more questions.
Why is the Carapils a late addition it’s not a dark malt?Three Wise Monkeys Pale Ale.
