I do my brewing in the basement at home, and lately I've noticed a bit of a smell of yeast around the house.. I assume it from what's venting from my brewing.

I don't mind it (smells like a bakery) but I was wondering if anyone else gets this and if there are any possible side effects (i.e. yeast obviously 'spores' like mold - if I had damp timbers somewhere, could it start germinating there and damage my house? I realize there would be more chance of mold growing (and I don't have any structural problems that I'm aware of) but I'm germinating the yeast myself, so there's much more of it than would naturally occur in the environment.)

Also - is there any reason why you shouldn't drink the sediment at the bottom of a brew-bottle other than personal taste?

Gives you the shits

It does clean you out I have to say, but then I have IBS, all kinds of **** sets me off

Shouldn't worry about it mate, it won't be bad for you or your house and it's unlikely you'll find a massive load of yeast growing in the walls one day.
