Yeast harvesting

I have a conical fermenter which has an attachment to capture yeast cake...but I've never used it.

Are there any dab hands on here that can give me some pointers on harvesting and storing the yeast?

Slosh it around with a bit of a beer leftovers and bottle it. Store in fridge. Works like a charm.
